Mercury retrograde widget: a live yes or no
The answer in one word, the date it changes, and whether the planet is still inside the shadow period either side of it.
How do I add a Mercury retrograde widget to my site?
The widget answers “is Mercury in retrograde right now” with YES or NO and the exact date the answer changes. Stations are calculated from planetary geometry rather than copied from a list, and the frame updates itself. It is free and needs no account.
Preview and embed code
320 × 280 pixels by default. Change the numbers in the code and the widget re-lays itself out.
Copy this
Paste it into a WordPress Custom HTML block, a Wix or Squarespace Embed element, a Tilda HTML block, or straight into a template. Nothing else is needed.
What the frame shows
Everything in it is calculated.
- YES or NO, large enough to read at a glance
- The date the current window ends, or the date the next one opens
- A countdown in days
- The pre- and post-retrograde shadow, which most published date lists leave out
Who puts this on a page
Not only astrology sites.
- News, culture and humour sites running the recurring joke
- Podcasts and newsletters with a standing sidebar
- Productivity, tech and startup blogs that reference it ironically
- Astrology sites that want the date without maintaining it
The rest of the set
Five more, same terms.
Every widget on this site is free, self-updating and pasted the same way.
