How do I add a moon phase widget to my website?

Paste one line of HTML and the widget shows tonight’s Moon phase, its illuminated percentage and the next full Moon date. It recalculates itself every day from our own ephemeris, so nothing has to be updated by hand. It is free and needs no account or API key.

Is the moon phase widget free?
Yes. It is free for personal and commercial sites, there is no account, no API key and no request limit. The only condition is that the attribution link that comes with the code stays visible.
How often does the widget update?
The phase, illumination and Moon sign are recalculated for every day from the same astronomical engine the rest of the site uses. You paste the code once and never touch it again.
Does it work on WordPress, Wix and Squarespace?
Yes. The widget is a standard iframe, which every website builder accepts through its HTML or embed block. It does not require JavaScript on your page and it cannot affect the rest of your layout.
Will the widget slow my page down?
No. It loads lazily, weighs a few kilobytes, downloads no fonts and runs no tracking scripts on your visitors. It is a self-contained frame that loads after your own content.
