The Ten of Wands is feeling that has arrived at the wrong time. It is a fire card, so what it reports is what they want and are moving toward rather than the whole of what they feel.
Upright and reversed

A reversal is not the opposite of the upright card. It blocks it, delays it, turns it inward or takes it too far, and which of those depends on the kind of card it is.
Upright
The Ten of Wands is feeling that has arrived at the wrong time. The attraction or affection is not in question; the capacity is. This person is loaded — work, family, obligation, something they may not have told you about — and the connection has become one more item on a list rather than the relief from it. That is a painful thing to be on the receiving end of and it is not a verdict on you. What the card denies is availability, not feeling.
Reversed
Reversed, something is being put down. Either they are shedding what they were carrying and making room, or they are dropping this particular weight because it was the one they could set aside.
Reversed late in a suit, the card usually reads as excess or as refusal to finish. Either the feeling has been taken past its useful point, or a conclusion is being avoided because reaching it would mean something.
Why the suit decides the answer
Fire does not feel the way the other three do.

When nothing has been said, a Wands card is usually the easiest of the four to read from outside, because Fire is bad at concealment. If the feeling is there, somebody is already doing something about it. Applied to something unspoken, at a Ten the feeling has reached the end of what this suit can do with it.
